Colin McMahon is editor-in-chief of the Chicago Tribune and chief content officer of the newspaper’s parent company, Tribune Publishing. He also oversees all editorial operations at Tribune Content Agency, the syndication and premium content arm of Tribune Publishing.
McMahon became the Tribune’s top editor in February 2020, after a long career as a local news reporter, foreign correspondent and senior editor. In his role as chief content officer, he works with all Tribune Publishing newsrooms on content strategy, audience analytics, digital transformation and culture change. He also coordinates the company’s editorial partnerships, represents TribPub across the industry and shares responsibility for partnerships with major platforms such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Apple.
